  MESA, AZ - Mesa held its annual Athletic Award Ceremony Saturday evening at the school's new Performing Arts Center.

  Highlight of the evening was the announcement of the major awards to the Most Outstanding Female and Male Athletes and the Coach of the Year.

  Charatta Thongbai (So., Gilbert, AZ/Dobson H.S.) was the top female athlete. She won three individual tournaments and never finished lower than third place in a conference event and was named Player of the Year in the ACCAC.

  Khari Holloway (So., Jackson, Miss/Mountain Pointe (AZ) H.S.) was the top male athlete. He was named a second team All-NJCAA Division I All-American. He averaged 17.2 points per game and led the nation in free throw shooting with a .931 percentage.

  The Coach of the Year was Adam Cohen, who handles the men's and women's tennis teams. Both squads earned spots in the NJCAA Division I National Championships. The men finished 13-3, unbeaten against two-year competition and with wins over an NCAA Division I team, a Division II squad and one from the NAIA, all four-year institutions.
