  MESA, AZ - Mesa took the two-game series with Scottsdale by scoring a 12-5 win at home Saturday.

  MCC led 5-0 through five innings and then broke the game open with a five-run sixth inning.

  Alex Gudac (So., West Jordan, Utah/Juan Diego Catholic H.S.) had a huge day, going 4-4 with an RBI, three runs scored and three stolen bases.

  Mitchell Morimoto (Fr., Isasaquah, Wash/Issaquah H.S.) was 2-4 with a triple and drove in three. Logan Etherington (Fr., Las Vegas, Nev/Faith Lutheran H.S.) was 2-4 with a pair of doubles and four RBIs. Danny Lutz (So., Phoenix, AZ/Shadow Mountain H.S.) was 2-3 with a double and Jordan Rose (So., Tremonton, Utah/Bear River H.S.) was 2-3.

  Kent Hasler (Fr., Chandler, AZ/Hamilton H.S,) went 6.2 innings, allowing just four hits and striking out seven. He cruised through the first six innings, allowing just one run before running into trouble in the seventh. He eventually surrendered four runs, but only one earned.

  Mesa begins a series with Chandler-Gilbert on the road Tuesday.
