Bears Use Long Ball to Win Game One, 13-2 (7)

Mesa, AZ - The Phoenix College Bears hit three early home runs on Thursday afternoon to push ahead of the Mesa Thunderbirds and take game one of the Regional Championship Series, 13-2.

The Bears scored first, putting up a three spot in the second inning, while adding one in the third, two in the fourth and three in the fifth and four in the seventh innings.

On the flip side, the T-Birds just couldn't get much offense going all day.  They managed six total hits, all singles.  Kelby Richardson had two of those singles on the day with two runs batted in but Mesa struck out eight times to foil any kind of momentum.

Game two of the series will be tomorrow afternoon at 3 pm at the Mesa Baseball Complex.

THERE WILL BE NO LIVE STREAM OF THE GAME.
