Harpe, Kelley help men's golf to tie for top spot on day 1 at Paradise Valley Invitational

  Scottsdale, AZ – Dean Harpe and Jeff Kelley each fired a two-under-par 70 to help the Mesa men's golf team share the lead after the first day of competition at the Gainey Ranch G.C. Monday.

  MCC had a team total 283, five under par, to tie for the lead with Eastern Arizona. South Mountain was three shots back at 286 and Pima was fourth at 291.

  Along with Harpe and Kelley, who were tied for fifth place individually, Gage Grimes was just one shot back with a one-under 71, good enough to tie for seventh. Brad Pottle carded an even-par 72 to sit in a tie for 12th place.

  The tournament concludes Tuesday.
