Men's Soccer Drop Match to Yavapai, 2-1

Mesa, AZ- The Mesa Thunderbirds battled and fought hard but couldn't get past the Yavapai Roughriders in a 2-1 affair Saturday night.

Benjamin Delgadillo scored Mesa's first goal on a penalty kick in the first half.  It was Manny Lopez who worked his way into the box which caused Yavapai to commit a foul which lead to the penalty kick.

Mesa took that lead into halftime but two second half by the Roughriders spoiled any upset the T-Birds had in mind.

Mesa now drops to 4-3-1 on the season.  The T-Birds will be back home again on Tuesday when they face Pima at 4:30 p.m.
