Coolidge, AZ - Don't call it a comeback but the #6 Mesa Thunderbirds women's basketball team eliminated a 72-66 deficit with two minutes to play to defeat the Central Arizona Vaqueras, 78-76.  It was two Leah Goodman free-throws with .03 seconds left in the game that made the difference in the final score.

For Coach Kori Stephenson and her staff, this was the first time they have defeated the Vaqueras down at Central Arizona.

Mesa has once again recorded a season with at least 20 wins, having accomplished the feat eight out of the last nine years.  The T-Birds have a 20-5 overall record and 15-2 ACCAC record.

The T-Birds will play at home next Wednesday night against the Eastern Arizona Gila Monsters, which will also be the "Fighting Cancer in All Colors" game.  Tip off will be at 5:30 pm.
