Women's golf shoots to 53-shot lead at Paradise Valley Invitational

  Scottsdale, AZ – The Mesa women's golf team shot to a 53-stroke lead on the first day of competition at the Paradise Valley Invitational being contested at the Wildfure G.C. Faldo Course Monday.

  The T-Birds carded a 324 total to far out-distance Chandler-Gilbert which is second at 377. Pima is third with a 388 total.

  MCC featured four of the top five on the opening day leader board. Haley Kapanicas led the way with a 78 to sit in second place. Cheyanne Stewart was one back at 79 and in third place. Megan Fusak with fourth with an 82 and Madison Tjaden held fifth place after an 85.

  This is the T-Birds' final regular season event of the year and will finish Tuesday.
