Late Push for Women's Soccer Not Enough to Overcome Coyotes in 2-1 Loss

Mesa, AZ - The Mesa Thunderbirds women's soccer team came up a goal shy in their loss to Chandler-Gilbert Thursday night, 2-1.

Mesa allowed two quick goals in the first half but buckled down the rest of the match to hold the Coyotes to just five shots on goal in the second half.

Martina Bueno scored for Mesa in the 69th minute to cut the Coyote lead to one.  Mesa had four shots on goal in the second half and two corner kicks but they just couldn't net that sneaky second goal.

The T-Birds move to 5-8-2 on the season.  They will have the weekend off then they will be back at home on Tuesday against the Glendale Gauchos at 7 p.m.
