T-BIRD MOMENTS OF 2025-26: BRIANNA ANDERSON REACHES 1,000 CAREER DIGS
Mesa Community College libero Brianna Anderson added her name to the Thunderbird record book during the 2025 season when she surpassed 1,000 career digs, becoming one of the most accomplished defensive players in program history.
The milestone served as another chapter in what became a historic career for Anderson, who established herself as one of the top liberos in both Mesa Community College and ACCAC history through her consistency, leadership, and defensive excellence.
Already the owner of the MCC and ACCAC single-season digs record after totaling 854 digs in 2024, Anderson continued to build on her legacy throughout her final season in a Thunderbird uniform. Her ability to control the back row and provide stability on defense played a major role in the program's continued success.
Head coach Jordan Herrington praised Anderson's impact on the program.
"Brianna has been an indispensable part of our program. She is truly one of a kind—driven, committed, and always striving to improve. She trusts my process wholeheartedly and gives her absolute best every single day. Beyond her personal dedication, Brianna uplifts those around her, providing unwavering support and leadership. She not only makes her teammates better but also commands the floor with confidence and energy. I am so proud of her and excited to see her continue to elevate her game here at MCC and wherever she may go next."
Anderson's final season added even more accolades to an already decorated career. She was named the 2025 ACCAC Libero of the Year and earned NJCAA Third Team All-American honors after helping lead the Thunderbirds to another successful campaign.
By the conclusion of her career, Anderson finished with 1,594 digs, cementing her place among the greatest liberos to ever wear a Thunderbird uniform. Her 1,000th career dig stands as one of the defining moments of the 2025-26 season and a milestone that highlighted a remarkable career at Mesa Community College.
