T-BIRD MOMENTS OF 2025-26: MALEAH TUCKER CAPTURES NJCAA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP IN WEIGHT THROW

One of the most historic performances of the 2025-26 season came at the NJCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships when Mesa Community College's Maleah Tucker claimed the national title in the women's weight throw.

Competing at Washburn University on March 7, 2026, Tucker delivered a championship throw of 18.49 meters to secure the NJCAA national championship and etch her name into the Thunderbird record book once again.

The mark established a new school record, surpassing the 18.18-meter throw she recorded earlier in the season. It was the latest in a series of record-breaking performances for Tucker, who consistently ranked among the nation's top throwers throughout the indoor campaign.

Tucker's national title highlighted a strong showing for the Thunderbirds at the national meet and marked one of the program's premier individual accomplishments of the year.

As one of the defining moments of the 2025-26 season, Tucker's national championship performance in the weight throw earned its place among the memorable T-Bird Moments of the year.
