FORMER THUNDERBIRD ABBY PLATT NAMED SOUTH ATLANTIC CONFERENCE BEACH VOLLEYBALL PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Former Mesa Community College standout Abby Platt earned one of the top honors in collegiate beach volleyball after being named the South Atlantic Conference Beach Volleyball Player of the Year following the 2026 season at Erskine College.
Platt capped off an outstanding senior campaign by helping the Fleet finish second in the South Atlantic Conference standings. She also earned First Team All-South Atlantic Conference honors for the second consecutive season after posting an 8-2 conference record and a 12-5 mark against NCAA Division II opponents while competing at the No. 1 flight.
Before continuing her collegiate career at Erskine, Platt was a key member of Mesa Community College's beach volleyball program from 2022-24. During her time with the Thunderbirds, she helped elevate the program to new heights as Mesa recorded sixth-place and fifth-place finishes at the NJCAA Beach Volleyball National Invitational, which were the best national finishes in program history at the time.
Throughout her career, Platt established herself as one of the program's most dependable competitors, helping lay the foundation for the continued success of Thunderbird Beach Volleyball.
Mesa Community College congratulates Abby on another outstanding accomplishment and wishes her continued success as she continues to build on an impressive collegiate career.
