T-BIRD MOMENTS OF 2025-26: DANIEL HESSE DOMINATES GLENDALE WITH 10 STRIKEOUTS

One of the top pitching performances of the 2025-26 season came on Feb. 13, when Mesa Community College's Daniel Hesse overpowered Glendale Community College to lead the Thunderbirds to victory.

Hesse tossed seven scoreless innings, allowing just three hits while striking out 10 and issuing only one walk. He faced 26 batters in the dominant outing, keeping Glendale's offense off balance from the first inning through the seventh.

The performance helped Hesse earn both the ACCAC Division II Pitcher of the Week (Week 2) and NJCAA Division II Pitcher of the Week honors.

At the time of the award, Hesse improved to 3-0 with a 1.80 ERA, the third-best mark among ACCAC Division II pitchers, while his 29 strikeouts led the conference at the time.

Hesse's dominant outing set the tone for an outstanding sophomore season and remains one of the defining T-Bird Moments of the 2025-26 campaign.
