T-BIRD MOMENTS OF 2025-26: MALEAH TUCKER NAMED ACCAC FEMALE FIELD ATHLETE OF THE YEAR
The 2025-26 academic year featured memorable moments across Mesa Community College, including one of the most successful individual seasons in Thunderbird Track & Field history.
Mesa Community College's Maleah Tucker was named the ACCAC Female Field Athlete of the Year after a dominant indoor and outdoor campaign.
Tucker capped her outdoor season as a two-time NJCAA All-American, finishing national runner-up in the hammer throw and sixth in the shot put. She swept the Region I Championships in the hammer throw, shot put, and discus while also winning ACCAC titles in the hammer throw and discus. Throughout the season, she earned three ACCAC Athlete of the Week honors.
Her success began during the indoor season, where Tucker captured the NJCAA National Championship in the weight throw, broke her own school record with a throw of 18.49 meters, and earned NJCAA Women's Indoor Athlete of the Week, NJCAA West Region Women's Field Athlete of the Year, and four ACCAC Athlete of the Week honors.
From conference championships to national titles and school records, Tucker delivered one of the greatest individual seasons in Mesa Community College Track & Field history.
