No. 5 Beach Volleyball splits in first day of pool play at Nationals

No. 5 Beach Volleyball split two games in their first day of pool play in the 2025 NJCAA Beach Volleyball National Championships in Huntsville, AL.

Match One:

In their opening contest No. 5 Mesa upset No. 4 Richard Bland, 3-2 as the T-Birds claimed victories at the 2, 4, & 5 position. Brynlee Barris and Isa Folau mounted a six point comeback in the first set at the 2's position to swing the momentum in their favor before finishing the job and clinching the match in the second set.

Match Two: 

In their second match of the day the T-Birds faced a tall task as they took on the two time defending national champion and top seed Palm Beach State. Mesa was swept 5-0 as each pair lost in two matches. 

Mesa will take on No. 8 Trinidad State College on Friday morning at 8:00 a.m. CDT (6:00 a.m. MST) in their final match of pool play before being reseeded into bracket competition.
