15-5 Run Rule Win for #2 Mesa Baseball vs PV Saturday Afternoon
Mesa, AZ - The Mesa Thunderbirds baseball team finished its first week of the season in a nice way as they defeated the Paradise Valley Pumas, 15-5 (7). With the victory, Mesa finishes the opening week with a 4-0 record.
The T-Birds used big innings to push pass the Pumas, scoring five runs in seperate innings while keeping the line moving with timely hitting and drawing walks.
On the day, Mesa recorded 13 total hits with shortstop Josh Leslie going 3-5 with a double, three RBI's and three runs scored. Cody Meniss finished 2-3 with a double, walk, three runs scored and two RBI's.
With a 4-0 record to start the season, Mesa will begin week two with a double-header against Chandler-Gilbert at home on Tuesday then a double-header next Saturday at home against Phoenix College.
