Baseball picks up a win over Phoenix College on Saturday

Mesa Baseball earned a much needed win over Phoenix College on Saturday, 7-3 as they improved their record to 27-21 (15-18 ACCAC).
The T-Birds continued to dominate this season against the Bears winning their 5th game against their ACCAC opponent this season.
The Bears would strike first getting two runs in the first inning before Luke Hewes would cut their lead in half with a solo shot in the bottom of the inning. Phoenix College would add one in the fourth inning to get a two run advantage back.
From then on Mesa would outscore PC, 6-0 as they would tack on three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning thanks to a Noah Troth RBI single, a Daren Walters-Ansell RBI double, and a Hewes RBI double.
In the seventh Mesa would load the bases before Javier Rochin earned a walk to score Nicolas Masciangelo. Mason Spellecy would add another run with a deep sac fly to center scoring Hewes. To cap things off Mason Shea would come in to touch home on a wild pitch to give Mesa a 7-3 advantage.
Austin Angelo would enter in the ninth inning to shut the Bears down and secure the win for Mesa.
The T-Birds regular season is quickly winding down as they have just eight games left. Mesa will host Nelson University and Glendale on Monday/Tuesday before they travel to take on Scottsdale and Paradise Valley on Wednesday/Friday.
