GAME 1 — MESA 3, CNCC 0
Mesa leaned on its pitching staff to open the series with a shutout victory. The T-Birds limited CNCC to just three hits while striking out 10.
Mesa scored once in each of the second, third, and fourth innings to build its cushion. Reid Linkmeyer went yard for Mesa home run and finished with two RBI. Mesa drew five walks offensively and managed four hits but capitalized on opportunities to plate runs.
On the mound, Austin Ragsdale earned the win with 2.2 scoreless innings and five strikeouts. Jaxson Schattenberg, Daniel Harris, Patrick Geary, and Cade Benson combined to close it out, with Harris recording the save.
GAME 2 — MESA 6, CNCC 5
Game 2 featured a late comeback. Mesa trailed 5-4 entering the bottom of the ninth before delivering the decisive rally.
With runners on, Noah Allison drove a two-run double to the gap, walking it off and securing the sweep. Allison finished 2-for-5 with two RBI. Austin Miller went 2-for-4 with a triple and two runs scored, while Luke Mann added a 3-for-4 performance. Chase Chanley also drove in two runs .
Mesa collected 11 hits in the contest. On the mound, Anthony Flacco earned the win in relief after three scoreless innings. The bullpen combined to keep the deficit manageable late, setting up the ninth-inning heroics.
Mesa will now host Park University this weekend.
