Park University
Mesa Bseballtook a home series with Park University over the weekend winning both games, pairing a lopsided offensive outburst with a shutout fueled by dominant pitching.
GAME 1 — MESA 14, PARK 2
Mesa's offense erupted early and often, scoring in four of the first five innings to pull away. The T-Birds plated five in the second and six more in the third to break the game open.
Reid Linkmeyer delivered the big swing with a three-run home run, while Jesse Aguirre also drove in three runs. Isaac Low added two RBI, and Mesa drew 10 walks as part of a 10 hit, 14 run performance .
On the mound, Daniel Hesse earned the win with four scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out four. Colin Patrick followed in relief to close out the victory as Mesa held Park to just three hits overall.
GAME 2 — MESA 8, PARK 0
Game 2 was all Mesa from the start, as the T-Birds jumped ahead early and leaned on a dominant pitching effort to complete the sweep.
Antonio Spencer-Thompson powered the offense with a four RBI day, highlighted by a home run. Reid Linkmeyer and Chase Chanley drove in one run each while Mesa again finished with 10 hits.
Mesa's pitching staff was in control throughout. Ramzy Rodriguez picked up the win with three hitless innings and five strikeouts. Austin Angelo and Daniel Harris followed with scoreless relief as the T-Birds limited Park to just two hits in the shutout.
