LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Claudeson Pelon (So., Orlando, Fla/Agape Christian H.S.), one of 19 former T-Birds who are moving on to NCAA Division I schools for the 2014 season, has drawn praise from USC head coach Steve Sarkisian for their effort during the opening days of spring practice according to the Daily Trojan.
Sarkisian was quoted as praising Pelon and fellow defensive lineman Kenny Bigelow. Sarkisian noted that the two had improved greatly to the point that they were making plays in the backfield late in practices as compared to less mobility early in spring drills.
Those two will be battling for a starting spot for the Trojans next season.
Pelon was a huge factor in Mesa's outstanding, 8-3, season which included playing in the Heart of Texas Bowl.
