Men's Basketball falls to CGCC on Wednesday

Mesa Men's Basketball fell to Chandler-Gilbert on Wednesday night, 66-50. With the loss MCC's record falls to 5-12 (2-5 ACCAC).
The T-Birds seemed to be clicking in the first half as they were able to hold the Coyotes to 26 points, the lowest amount they've scored in a first half since Dec. 11. MCC was able to put up 29 points in the half as they took a three point lead into the halftime locker room. In the second half the Coyotes woke up offensively, outscoring Mesa 40-21 in the second half enroute to victory.
The Coyotes won the battle of the boards as they grabbed 40 rebounds (17 offensive, 23 defensive) while Mesa totaled 25 rebounds (8 offensive, 17 defensive). The T-Birds shot 18-56 (32%) from the floor marking the 10th time Mesa has shot under 40% from the field and the 5th time they have been held under 35%.
MCC will look to get back on track on Saturday as they host Scottsdale, tipoff at 4:00 p.m.

Shakir Galab led all scorers as he shot 6-12 (50%) from the field and nailed four of his seven three-pointers as he totaled 19 points for Mesa.

Tyreek Dean grabbed six rebounds for Mesa while Mike Alexander had four.
