MCC Men's Basketball dropped a 92–71 decision to No. 5 Pima Community College on Saturday at Theo Heap Gymnasium, moving to 11-8 (5-6 ACCAC).
Pima set the tone early with a 46–33 halftime lead and shot efficiently throughout, finishing 47.6% from three and 48.5% from the floor. Mesa cut into the margin in the second half but couldn't close the gap.
Ezias Steffen paced the T-Birds with 18 points, Denali McNeal added 16 points with six assists and five steals, and Mike Alexander scored nine on a perfect 3-for-3 shooting night.
Next up, Mesa hits the road Wednesday to face South Mountain Community College as ACCAC play continues.
