TYREEK DEAN NAMED TO ALL-REGION 2ND TEAM
Mesa Community College Men's Basketball sophomore Tyreek Dean has been named to the Region I Division II All-Region Second Team following a strong season for the Thunderbirds.
Dean emerged as one of Mesa's most consistent contributors this season, averaging 14.6 points per game while shooting an efficient 58.6% from the field. He also added 7.4 rebounds per game and shot 70.7% from the free throw line.
The sophomore produced 12 games with 15 points or more during the season and recorded five double-doubles, showcasing his ability to impact both ends of the floor. His best performance came on February 21 against Phoenix College, when he poured in a season-high 32 points.
Dean's All-Region recognition comes after notable improvement from his freshman season. After averaging 10.9 points per game last year, Dean raised his scoring to 14.6 points per contest while dramatically improving his efficiency from 42.7% to 58.6% shooting. His rebounding numbers also jumped from 5.5 rebounds per game to 7.4, highlighting his expanded role in the T-Birds' frontcourt.
Dean previously earned All-ACCAC Division II Third Team honors as a freshman, and his continued development helped anchor Mesa throughout the season.
