Mesa Community College delivered its most complete performance of the fall season at Dobson Ranch Golf Club, surging to the team title behind a dominant final round that separated the Thunderbirds from every program in the field.
After opening with a 281, Mesa caught fire on Day 2, posting a tournament-best 272 (-16) — the lowest single-round score recorded by any team during the event. That closing effort powered MCC to a 553 total, five strokes ahead of South Mountain (558) and seven ahead of Eastern Arizona (560). Paradise Valley (584), Chandler-Gilbert (594), and Estrella Mountain (634) completed the standings.
Mesa's win was built on exceptional balance across the lineup, with multiple players climbing the leaderboard thanks to steady opening rounds and explosive finishes.
The T-Birds placed four golfers in the top seven:
• T3 – Madden Hall: 70–67—137
• T3 – Tanner Thompson: 70–67—137
• T5 – Karter Samprone: 70–69—139
• T7 – Trey Moss: 71–70—141
Depth continued to show throughout the roster, with Kush Shah (T12, 75–69—144) and Nathan Giles (T16, 71–74—145) adding key scoring support. Nicholas Morrow (T27, 74–80—154) and Thomas Bode (T29, 81–76—157) rounded out Mesa's competitors.
The Thunderbirds' final-round surge highlighted by two 67s and five sub-par rounds underscored the potential the group carries into the spring.
