MEN'S GOLF TAKES THIRD AT MCCINVITATIONAL
Mesa Community College Men's Golf delivered a strong performance on its home course, finishing third overall at the MCC Invitational held at Dobson Ranch Golf Course.
The Thunderbirds combined for a two-round score of -14 (280-286), placing behind No. 4 South Mountain (-31) and No. 16 Eastern Arizona (-17) in a competitive field featuring multiple nationally ranked programs.
Mesa set the tone early in round one, firing a -8 (280) to position itself firmly in contention. Treyton Moss led the charge with a 67 (-5), pacing the field with a clean and controlled round. Nathan Giles followed with a 70 (-2), while Tanner Thompson added a 71 (-1) to give the Thunderbirds three players under par after the opening 18 holes.
Carrying momentum into the final round, Mesa posted a -6 (286) to secure its third-place finish. Thompson delivered the low round of the day for the Thunderbirds with a 68 (-4), climbing up the leaderboard with consistent play across both nines. Moss remained steady with a 69 (-3) to cap off an impressive tournament, while Kush Shah added an even-par 72.
Moss led Mesa individually, finishing third overall at -8 (67-69). Thompson followed at -5, while Giles finished at -1, giving the Thunderbirds multiple players near the top of the leaderboard throughout the event.
