MEN'S GOLF POSTS STRONG SHOWING AT CHANDLER-GILBERT COYOTE CLASSIC

Mesa Community College men's golf turned in a strong performance at the Chandler-Gilbert Coyote Classic, highlighted by a runner-up finish from Kush Shah and multiple top-15 individual placements.

Shah led the way for the Thunderbirds, tying for second overall with rounds of 68-70-138 (-6). His opening round 68 (-4) set the tone, and he followed it up with a steady 70 (-2) to remain near the top of the leaderboard throughout the event.

Karter Samprone and Tanner Thompson each finished tied for 12th, both carding 147 (+3) over two rounds. Samprone posted rounds of 73-74, while Thompson went 74-73 to match the total.

Nathan Giles added another solid finish for MCC, placing tied for 15th with rounds of 76-73-149 (+5), improving his score in the second round.

The Thunderbirds will wrap up their regular season April 13-14 at the Eastern Arizona College Invitational.
