MEN'S GOLF SITS SECOND AFTER SECOND ROUND OF REGION I CHAMPIONSHIPS

Mesa Community College Men's Golf remains in strong position after two rounds of the NJCAA Region I Men's Golf Championships, sitting second overall at +19.

South Mountain continues to lead the field at 8-under, while Chandler-Gilbert (+31) and Paradise Valley (+39) round out the team standings.

The Thunderbirds are paced by Trey Moss, who leads Mesa and sits sixth overall at +2 through two rounds. Tanner Thompson is close behind in eighth at +4, while Kush Shah holds ninth at +5 to give Mesa three golfers inside the top 10.

Karter Samprone is currently in 13th at +9, and Nathan Giles rounds out the Thunderbird scoring group in 17th at +17.

With two rounds remaining, Mesa remains within striking distance and will look to close the gap on South Mountain in the final round.

Round three of the Region I Championships continues on Wednesday at Ocotillo Golf Course.
