MESA MEN’S GOLF FINISHES REGION I RUNNER-UP; SHAH LEADS T-BIRDS
Mesa Community College Men's Golf finished runner-up at the Region I Championship, posting a four-round team total of +34.
The Thunderbirds were led by Kush Shah, who placed fourth overall at +2 with rounds of 74-73-68-71. Shah's third-round 68 was the lowest round of the day and helped move him into contention down the stretch.
Tanner Thompson added a strong top-10 finish, placing seventh at +7 with rounds of 74-72-74-71, closing with a 71 in the final round.
Trey Moss finished 10th overall, carding rounds of 70-74-78-77, while Nathan Giles placed 15th with rounds of 83-76-78-74, improving his score each of the final three rounds.
Mesa's consistent scoring across the lineup kept the Thunderbirds in second throughout the event, finishing behind South Mountain, who claimed the team title at +1.
The Thunderbirds now turn their attention to the NJCAA Men's Golf National Championships in Plymouth, Indiana, set for May 19–22.
