MEN'S GOLF SITS TIED FOR 16TH PLACE AFTER ROUND ONE AT NJCAA DIVISION II MEN’S GOLF NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
Mesa Community College Men's Golf opened play at the NJCAA Division II Men's Golf National Championships on Tuesday at Swan Lake Golf Resort as the Thunderbirds wrapped up round one tied for 16th place overall at +18.
Sophomore Tanner Thompson paced the Thunderbirds in the opening round, carding a one-over-par 73 to sit tied for 12th individually heading into round two.
Nathan Giles and Kush Shah each posted rounds of 77 (+5) and are tied for 66th overall after the opening 18 holes.
Karter Samprone and Madden Hall rounded out the Thunderbird lineup, each shooting 79 (+7) to sit tied for 94th individually.
Mesa will return to the course on Wednesday for round two of the four-day national championship tournament.
