PRESCOTT VALLEY, AZ - The nation's third-ranked NJCAA Division I men's soccer team, Yavapai, handed Mesa its first loss of 2014 with a 6-1 defeat in ACCAC play Saturday.
The Roughriders built a 5-0 halftime lead before MCC got on the board in the 61st minute.
The win was revenge for YC which was tied by Mesa a year ago, breaking a 50-game winning streak at home.
The T-Birds will go back into action Tuesday when they play GateWay at the Rose Mofford Sports Complex in Phoenix at 4:30 p.m.
