Mesa Keeps to Winning Ways With 6-1 Victory vs South Mountain

Mesa, AZ - The Mesa Thunderbirds keep to its winning ways Thursday night with a 6-1 victory over the South Mountain Cougars.

Garrett Kowalski scored his first two goals of the season in the first half, the only two goals Mesa had during the first frame.  With a 2-0 lead in the second half, Jesus Garcia dialed up Mesa's next two goals, his 5th and 6th goals of the season.

Joey Rojas Mena knocked in the T-Birds fifth goal on the night in the 77th minute and just a minute later, Aaron Vindiola scored his second of the season, finalizing the scoring for Mesa.

With this match being the first conference match of the season, Mesa is 1-0 in conference play and 6-2 overall.  The T-Birds will play this Saturday at 7 pm against the Gateway Geckos as Eagles Park in downtown Mesa.
