No. 14 Men's Soccer lost for the first time this season as they fell at the hands of the Gauchos, 2-1.
Mesa just didn't seem to be able to get it going on the offensive end, tallying just four shots to the Gauchos 13.
Glendale got the scoring early in the 16th minute as Willy Cortez's shot flew past MCC's keeper Landon Johnson. The rest of the half neither team could gain an edge and the score remained, 1-0 advantage GCC at the halftime break.
Out of the half Glendale picked up where they left off, scoring in the 50th minute as Yahir Gonzalez snuck one past Johnson.
The T-Birds would slowly progress offensively throughout the half which would lead to a Joseph Rodriguez goal off a penalty kick in the 80th minute whic cut the Gaucho lead to just one.
Though the T-Birds offense became more in tune from that point on, Glendale came up with big stops when they needed them most and took home the win in the process.
With the loss Mesa falls to 2-1 on the year (2-1 ACCAC). There will be little time for the T-Birds to dwell as they welcome in No. 5 Pima on Tuesday.
