The Men's Soccer 2024 season came to an end on Saturday night as they tied with Paradise Valley, 1-1.
The Pumas played spoiler for the T-Birds as Mesa needed a victory in their contest in order to claim the 4th and final playoff spot this season. This is the first time since 2021 that Mesa has not made the postseason.
Both teams were nearly identical on the stat sheet as both total 11 shots on goal in the contest. Neither team could gain an upper hand for a long period of time which led to a scoreless half from both teams.
Paradise Valley was finally able to put a goal on the board as they would find the net in the 61st minute. The T-Birds answered back immediately as Zachary Lanman would find the back of the net in the 62nd minute. Though Mesa had many chances after their goal to take the lead, their shots would not cross the threshold as the match ended in a 1-1 tie, ending their playoff hopes.
Isaac Semini and Caden Dosmann both scored 5 goals on the year leading the T-Birds in the category. Though Jordan Hagen only began to play midway through the season, he totaled 34 saves for Mesa holding a .708 save percentage.
