Mesa Track & Field competed in one of their final regular season meets of the season on Saturday as they took on the competition at the Glendale Outdoor Invite.

Women's Track & Field:

Natalia Brzezniak continues to make strides in her outdoor season as she nears full health. Brzezniak eclipsed personal best marks in the 100m Hurdles (15.73) and the Javelin Throw (22.00m). Interim head coach Daniel Pescador knows the journey Brzezniak has been on to get back to competing and is proud of the progress she has made to this point.

"Natalia had a nice great meet, completing a near full recovery. I'm extremely proud of how she competed in the hurdles and the 800. I think this was the most complete and focused hurdles race she's had," said Pescador.

Erin Mabry set PRs in the 100m (12.32) and the Long Jump (5.32m) while Alyssa O'Berry set a PR in the 800m (2:37.77) and Destiny Hernandez set a PR in the 1500m (5:35.41).

Sara Jacobson continues her dominant outdoor season as she set another PR, this time in the Shot Put (11.60m).

Men's Track & Field:
Brayden Faris ran a season best and nearly a PR in the 100m (10.84). Jaden Laffitte had a big day as he hit two PRs setting new marks in the 200m (21.80) and the 400m (48.32). Laffitte is piecing it all together at the right time and his performance has not gone unnoticed.

"Jaden continues to develop into the runner we know he can be. I'm excited to see him continue to improve," said Pescador.

DeAndre Gatlin continues to excel in the HIgh Jump as he took first overall clearing 2.08m nearly connecting at 2.14m. Austin John narrowly missed out on qualifying ro the Discus as he hit 35.42m.

Mesa has just one more regular season meet starting on Thursday before they set their sights on Regionals and then Nationals.
