T-Birds on the Move: Cross Country / Track & Field

Mesa Community College athletes continue to shine on the national stage, with several T-Birds from the 2024-25 Track & Field/Cross Country rosters moving on to continue their athletic and academic careers.
Madisyn Williams – Pole Vault
UNC Charlotte (NCAA Division I)
Williams capped off her MCC career with a standout performance at the 2025 NJCAA Indoor National Championships, where she was the National Runner-Up in the Pole Vault. She followed that success with a third-place finish at the 2025 NJCAA Outdoor National Championships, solidifying her status as one of the top vaulters in the country.
Sara Jacobson – Multis (Pentathlon/Heptathlon)
Utah Valley University (NCAA Division I)
Jacobson has proven to be one of the most versatile athletes in the NJCAA. She earned National Runner-Up honors in the pentathlon at the 2025 Indoor National Championships and went on to finish third in the Heptathlon at the 2025 Outdoor National Championships. Her all-around skill set has made her a consistent force in multi-event competitions.
SeiOriana Glass – Throws (Weight Throw, Hammer Throw)
Eastern New Mexico University (NCAA Division II)
Glass became an NJCAA All-American in the weight throw during the 2024 Indoor National Championships, showcasing her power and precision in the throws events.
Carmella Baldwin – Distance
Cal State San Marcos (NCAA Division II)
Baldwin has built an impressive resume at Mesa, earning multiple All-American honors in events such as the 4x800-meter relay and Distance Medley Relay during her Track & Field career. She was also a key member of the Thunderbirds' 2024 NJCAA Women's Cross Country National Championship team. Individually, Baldwin earned Cross Country All-American honors, took 3rd place at the NJCAA Cross Country National Championships as a freshman, and was named West Region Athlete of the Year in cross country that same season.
Nick Valle – Distance
New Mexico State University (NCAA Division I)
Valle emerged as one of the top distance runners in the nation, earning NJCAA First Team All-American honors in Cross Country and finishing as the 2024 NJCAA Cross Country National Runner-Up. His consistent top finishes helped anchor MCC's strong distance program.
Quenton Metz – Distance
New Mexico State University (NCAA Division I)
Metz adds depth to the Aggies' roster as another high-performing distance athlete from MCC. He contributed to Mesa's success in cross country and distance relay events during the 2024–25 season.
Austin John – Throws (Weight Throw, Hammer Throw)
Western Colorado University
John wrapped up a decorated career at Mesa by being named the 2025 Region I Male Field Athlete of the Year. He captured three Region I titles at the 2025 NJCAA Region I Championships and earned All-American honors in both the Weight Throw and Hammer Throw his sophomore season.
