Mesa Cross Country takes to the course on Friday morning as they compete in the ACCAC Championships at Heroes Regional Park in Glendale, AZ.
Men's Cross Country:
The T-Birds men are coming off an 8th place finish this past weekend at the UC Riverside Invite. Sophomore Jorge Trujillo led the way as he finished 16th overall with a time of 25:15. Mesa's pack strategy was solid in their last race as the gap between their first and fifth runner was 1:15 and the gap between the first and seventh was 1:31.
Last year at the ACCAC Championships the T-Birds took home the crown as Trujillo led the charge.
Women's Cross Country:
The Lady T-Birds took home 6th place in their last competition at the UC Riverside Invite, led by Kinley Jackson who finished 38th overall with a time of 18:29. Mesa hit their best split times of the season last weekend as 42 seconds separated their first and fifth runner while 2:58 split their first and seventh runner.
Last year MCC took third at the ACCAC Championships as then freshman Carmella Baldwin led the charge for Mesa, finishing first while taking home the individual champion crown.
