Mesa Community College Women's Basketball climbed to No. 11 in the latest NJCAA Division II national rankings, continuing a steady rise after sitting at No. 13 last week and No. 15 two weeks ago.
The Thunderbirds are 7-3 overall and 4-0 in ACCAC play, riding a six-game winning streak with their last four victories coming against conference opponents.
MCC's balanced offense has been led by sophomore Amya Bekele, who paces the team at 11.3 points per game, followed closely by Lakeisha Robinson (11.0 PPG) and Sydnee Patterson (10.0 PPG).
Mesa will close out the calendar year with two home contests, hosting Yakima Valley College on Wednesday and Lake Land College on Thursday as the Thunderbirds look to carry their momentum into the new year.
