LAKEISHA ROBINSON EARNS NJCAA ALL-AMERICAN HONORS AFTER STANDOUT FRESHMAN SEASON

Mesa Community College women's basketball freshman Lakeisha Robinson capped off a strong debut season by earning NJCAA Division II Women's Basketball All-American Second Team honors.

Robinson, the ACCAC Division II Freshman of the Year, emerged as a consistent scoring and offensive presence for the Thunderbirds throughout the season. She averaged 14.8 points per game on 47.1% shooting from the field while adding 5.6 rebounds per contest.

Her efficiency placed her sixth in the conference in field goal percentage, highlighting her ability to produce at a high level against ACCAC competition.

Robinson also played a key role off the bench for Mesa, providing an immediate impact in scoring and energy. She recorded 21 games with 10 or more points, including four 20-point performances.

One of her most notable outings came in the NJCAA Region I Division II Semifinals against Scottsdale, where Robinson logged 44 minutes and scored 23 points. She delivered two clutch baskets late to help lift the Thunderbirds to a come-from-behind victory.

Robinson played a key role in leading Mesa to a run in the NJCAA Region I Division II Tournament, where the Thunderbirds advanced to the finals. Her impact was felt on both ends of the floor, providing steady scoring and energy in critical moments throughout the postseason.

As one of the top freshmen in the conference, Robinson's All-American selection adds to an already impressive first season and positions her as a key piece for the Thunderbirds moving forward.
