Wednesday May 22, 2024 - 4:40 p.m. | Dylan DeVlieger

Alyzzah Vakasiuola shot 74 (+1) on Wednesday in round three of the NJCAA DI Women's Golf National Championship.

Vakasiuola had a bumpy start to the tournament shooting a 76 (+3) in the first round.

"Alyzzah had a ton of scoring looks today. She had two mental mistakes which cost her four strokes," said head coach John Guerrero after her opening round, " She played a great front nine (her back nine) which salvaged her round. Looking forward to gaining strokes on the field in round two."

Vakasiuola did just that in the second round as she shot a 67 (-6) on the day, the second best score in the round. After birdying her first three holes of the day Vakasiuola would finish the front nine with a 32 and would shoot 35 to end her round tallying seven birdies on the day.

In round three Vakasiuola would shoot 36 on the front nine but stumbled a bit carding a 38.

Vakasiuola who sits in 4th is still well within striking distance to take home a national championship, trailing 3rd place by one stroke, and 1st place by six strokes.

Vakasiuola will compete in the fourth and final round on Thursday teeing off at Duran Golf Club at 9:00 a.m. EDT.
