Women's Golf falls further behind leader after second round of NJCAA National Championships

Mesa Women's Golf sits in second place after the second round of the 2025 NJCAA DII Women's Golf National Championships on Wednesday. 

The Lady T-Birds were unable to close the six stroke gap they found themselves in to begin the second round as they shot +29 (317) on the day matching their performance in the opening round. 

In the early going Mesa had cut their deficit to four strokes at one point but eventually MCC would stumble in opportunities to score while Shelton State Community College stayed consistent as they went +16 (304) on the day. After the second round Mesa found themselves 19 strokes behind SSCC for the lead.

Mackenzie Vongphosy led the way for Mesa as she sits in tied for 5th place after shooting +3 (75) on the day. Vongphosy posted three birdies in the second round, but four bogeys and one double bogey pushed her down the leaderboard.

The third round starts at 6:00 a.m. CDT (4:00 a.m. MST) on Thursday at Cedar Point Golf Course.
