THUNDERBIRD WOMEN’S GOLF HOLDS 6TH AFTER ROUND THREE OF NJCAA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Mesa Community College Women's Golf team holds sixth place following round three of the NJCAA Division II Women's Golf National Championships at Ol' Colony Golf Complex in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
Mesa enters the final round of the national championship tournament with a three-round score of +164 after posting a +58 team score on Thursday.
Elina Beyer led the way for Mesa in round three with a team-best 78 (+6), moving into a tie for 27th individually at +39 overall. Beyer carded birdies on holes eight and 14 during her round.
Abree Germaine continues to pace the Thunderbirds individually as she sits tied for ninth overall at +26 following an 84 (+12) in round three. Germaine remains inside the top 10 heading into the tournament's final day after opening the championship with back-to-back strong rounds.
Sara Sawyer shot a 91 (+19) on Wednesday and is tied for 37th overall at +44, while Annalise Kooner sits tied for 48th at +55 after carding a 93 (+21) in round three.
Shelton State Community College leads the team standings at +94, followed by Murray State College (OK) at +107 and Wallace State Community College at +138.
The Thunderbirds will conclude play at the NJCAA Division II Women's Golf National Championships on Friday with the final round in Tuscaloosa.
