MESA, AZ - Just over a week after playing a tight, 1-0, game won by Mesa, the T-Birds and Phoenix couldn't decide anything in a scoreless, double overtime, tie Thursday evening at John D. Riggs Stadium.

The two teams that are currently battling for the sixth Region I playoff spot, played about as even a contest as could be imagined. Along with the tie score each took 15 total shots with MCC holding a slim, 8-7, edge in shots on goal.

Mesa goalkeeper Danielle Torres (So., Yuma, AZ/Kofa H.S.) recorded her fifth shutout of the year, making seven saves.

With the tie, MCC is now 6-5-5 and PC is 6-5-4.

The Thunderbirds have a week off before traveling to Glenadale next Thursday.
