Mesa, AZ - For the second time this week, the Mesa Thunderbirds have beaten the opposing team, 1-0, on its home field. This time around, it was the Pima Aztecs.
Caitlyn Waller knocked in Mesa's only goal of the night, on a penalty kick in the 53rd minute of the match. For Waller, this was her first goal of the season. In goal for the T-Birds was Lizbeth Medina, who made 10 saves on the night while collecting her fourth shutout of the season.
The T-Birds finished the week with a 2-1 record and are now 4-4 overall and in conference play. They will play home next Tuesday night against Paradise Valley at 7 pm.
