Mesa Community College women's soccer earned a 2–2 draw against Paradise Valley on Saturday night at John D. Riggs Stadium, moving their record to 1-2-1 overall (0-0-1 ACCAC).
The Thunderbirds opened the scoring early as Alexis Vogel netted a goal in the 9th minute off a pass from Mia Abad. Mesa carried the 1–0 lead into halftime behind a solid defensive effort and key stops from goalkeeper Ellie Huish.
After Paradise Valley equalized early in the second half, MCC responded immediately. Just one minute later, Nicole Hipps converted with help from Ariana Lopez, putting Mesa back on top 2–1. The visitors found another late goal in the 85th minute, leveling the match for good.
Mesa finished with 19 shots, 12 on goal, while Huish collected eight saves in net.
The Thunderbirds now turn their attention to a tough road test, traveling to face No. 4 Scottsdale on Tuesday in conference play.
