Mesa Women's Tennis secured their second straight Region I title on Tuesday after taking down Glendale, 7-2 and capturing the season series against the Gauchos.
The Lady T-Birds repeat as Region I champions for the first time since 2016-17 when they took top 10 nationally in both seasons under head coach Adam Cohen.
The road was not easy for Mesa as they battled injuries and with a slim schedule had to pivot focus quickly and on a regular basis. Nevertheless, the Lady T-Birds stayed poised and prepared in large part to head coach Feroz Rast who kept his team ready for the next challenge no matter who or when it may be.
"So proud of the ladies on this region title. Winning is never given and we worked extremely hard each day to achieve this goal," said Rast, "back-to-back titles is amazing and one that Mesa has not gotten on the ladies side in a few years so I am excited for the freshman to go for a 3 Peat next year!"
Mesa will have one more regular season match on Saturday against ASU Club before they set their focus on Nationals in Tyler, TX in early May.
