WTF Ranked Third in Week One Outdoor Rankings

New Orleans, LA - The Mesa Thunderbirds women's track & field team is ranked third overall in the week one edition of the 2023 NJCAA Division I Women's Outdoor Track & Field Rating Index.

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released the rankings Wednesday afternoon.

The lady T-Birds are the highest-ranked ACCAC team with 477.65 points. Victoria Malaki currently has the top discus mark in NJCAA DI after throwing a distance of 46.54m at the Willie Williams Classic on March 25th.

New Mexico JC is ranked first overall with 629.26 points. Cloud County (KS) (480.81), South Plains (TX) (461.06), and Barton County (KS) (388.86) round out the top-five teams.

The lady T-Birds will compete at the ACCAC Championship meet this Friday at Glendale CC.
