MELZER NAMED ACCAC WOMEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Mesa Community College distance standout Lucy Melzer has been named the ACCAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week following a national-level performance at the CAC Indoor Invitational.

Melzer took first place in the 1000 meters with a time of 2:59.77, a mark that currently ranks No. 9 in the NJCAA Division I national standings. Her sub-three minute effort highlighted another strong meet for the Thunderbird women and continued Melzer's momentum through the indoor season.

The weekly honor marks the first conference award of the year for Melzer and adds to a growing list of national qualifiers for Mesa as the indoor championship season approaches.
