Mesa Community College Volleyball Head Coach Jordan Abalos Herrington has been named the NJCAA Division II West District Coach of the Year for the second consecutive season, adding another prestigious honor to a rapidly growing coaching résumé.

Herrington's impact on the program was undeniable once again in 2025, guiding the T-Birds to an undefeated 12–0 conference season—the first perfect ACCAC record in program history—and leading Mesa to its second straight NJCAA Region I Division II Championship. The back-to-back titles cemented MCC's status as one of the premier DII volleyball programs in the country.

Athletic Director John Mulhern said Herrington's leadership has transformed the program into a nationally respected contender.
"Coach Herrington has established a nationally recognized program in a short period of time," Mulhern said. "Mesa Community College has benefited from her passion, dedication, and commitment to her student-athletes' academic and athletic success. She is a difference maker and a gifted leader."

Under Herrington's guidance, Mesa has climbed into the national spotlight through disciplined play, strong recruiting, and a team culture built on accountability and competitive fire. The T-Birds advanced to their second straight national tournament appearance while developing All-Conference talent across the roster, including ACCAC DII Player of the Year Lindsey Leavitt and two-time Libero of the Year Brianna Anderson.

Herrington's back-to-back district honors reflect not just wins, but the foundation she has built, one defined by sustained excellence, rising expectations, and a program that continues to elevate year after year.
