Mesa Community College's Olivia Baker continues to shine on the national stage, earning the M-F Athletic National Athlete of the Week award for the second consecutive week.
Baker, placed 4th overall at the CSUSM Cougar Challenge this past weekend, where she delivered a historic performance. Her time of 21:22.1 in the 6K set a new Mesa school record, breaking the mark previously held by Carmella Baldwin. This is also the fastest 6k time in the conference.
This latest honor also adds to MCC's growing legacy of national recognition in women's cross country. Baker becomes the sixth Thunderbird to earn the award, joining a list that includes Carmella Baldwin (2023), Kate Brockman (twice in 2022), and Tanaeya Johnson (2021).
Baker has consistently led the Thunderbirds at every meet this fall, setting the tone for the women's squad as they prepare for the championship stretch of the season.
