MESA BASEBALL OPENS SEASON WITH BACK-TO-BACK WINS

vs. Arizona Christian University

Mesa Community College Baseball opened the season with a 13-3 win, powered by Thunderbird production at the plate and on the mound.

Mesa scored seven runs in the first inning, highlighted by Austin Miller (3-for-3, 3 R, 2 RBI), Beau Tarwater (3-for-3, 2 R, RBI, 2B), and Jesse Aguirre (2-for-3, 3 R, 3 RBI). Francis Panko added two RBI, while Luke Mann drove in three with a bases-loaded sac fly and RBI groundout. Mesa finished with nine hits, 13 RBI, and 10 walks.

On the mound, Daniel Hesse earned the win, striking out nine over four scoreless innings, allowing just two hits. 

vs. Park University 

The T-Birds followed up with a 9-4 win, once again driven by Thunderbird production across the lineup and bullpen.

Mesa broke the game open with a five run fifth inning, highlighted by a three RBI day from Henry O'Rear, who went 1-for-4 with a sacrifice fly. Jesse Aguirre scored three times and added two hits, while Luke Mann finished 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI. Anthony Avelar delivered a triple and drove in two, and Isaac Low added a pair of hits. Mesa totaled 12 hits and nine RBI.

On the mound, Austin Angelo earned the win with three strong innings, allowing one run while striking out four. Daniel Harris closed the door with 1.1 scoreless innings to secure the save.
