Women's Basketball rolls past South Mountain to remain perfect in conference play

No. 8 Mesa Women's Basketball picked up where they left off in conference action on Wednesday as they earned a wire to wire victory over South Mountain.
Mesa dominated the contest as they more than doubled the Cougars quarter total in all four periods. The T-Birds built a 52-14 lead going into the halftime locker room and never looked back as they would outscore SMCC, 52-20 in the second half to secure the 103-34 victory. This is the second time this season Mesa has broken the century mark.With the win Mesa improved their record to 12-6 (6-0 ACCAC).
The T-Birds will be back in action on Jan. 15 as they hit the road to take on Chandler-Gilbert.
Breakout T-Birds:
MCC had five players in double figures (four starters one off the bench) as they were led in scoring by Ashiian Hunter who had 21 points as she nailed five three-pointers. Hunter also dished out six dimes and grabbed four rebounds. Bella Barrett had 10 points to go along with her six rebounds and five assists. Meisha Caserio was a spark off the bench for Mesa as she went 4-5 from the field and 3-4 from deep scoring 11 points.
As a team the T-Birds shot lights out as they went 42-76 (55.3%) from the field and 16-32 (50%) from three-point range.
